Prof. Oswaldo Álvarez is the General Manager of Biofabri, a Spanish biopharmaceutical company, which mission is the development and production of vaccines for human use and the manufacturing of pharmacological products for third parties.
As soon as he finished his studies of Industrial Engineering in year 1989, he started working in ICI Farma, the pharmaceutical Division in Spain of the British group Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI). Since then, Oswaldo has worked within the pharmaceutical sector and has developed different functions in ICI, Zeneca and later on, in Astrazeneca within the scope of Operations and Supply Chain Management (Purchasing and Vendors Management, Components Design, Production Planning, Warehousing, physical Distribution and ERP systems).
He was Market Account Manager for Spain and Portugal and Site Manager of the Astrazeneca factory in Spain.
