Open online consultation workshop on the renewed TB Vaccine Development Pathway – 12 February 2026

/

To diversify the TB Vaccine pipeline and accelerate TB Vaccine development, scientific innovations are crucial. Both successful new approaches and unexpected negative results need to be communicated widely to enable effective implementation in future R&D.

For that reason, TBVI brought together two working groups of preclinical and clinical experts to evaluate recent scientific progress and select models and insights that are sufficiently matured for inclusion in the TB Vaccine Development Pathway.

Are you interested in scientific progress that supports and improves TB vaccine development?

And/or are you interested in providing feedback to the renewed TB Vaccine Development Pathway?

During a 90 minutes workshop on 12 February 2026 at 16:00hr CET, the chairs of the working groups, Katrin Eichelberg (NIH) and Gavin Churchyard (the Aurum Institute), will present the main recent preclinical and clinical insights.

Attendees are invited to join the discussion on the implications of these recent scientific insights for vaccine development and provide feedback and input to further improve the TB Vaccine Development Pathway.

If you would like to attend this virtual consultation meeting, please send an email to info@tbvi.eu.

About the TB Vaccine Development Pathway

The development of a TB vaccine can be divided into stages, from discovery to implementation. A well-informed decision to move a vaccine candidate to the next stage is of great importance to optimally use available funds. This decision is especially difficult for TB vaccines because of the lack of a correlate of protection, of predictive animal models, of precedence for obtaining marketing authorisation, and the restricted amount of funding available. The TB Vaccine Development pathway provides guidance for making the best possible decisions for rational advancement of candidates and to efficiently manage TB vaccine development.

A quick introduction to the TB Vaccine Development Pathway is provided in our 3-minute animation.
