Product Advancement eXperts (PAX)
TBVI provides technical support for product and clinical development to its partners through its Product Advancement eXperts (PAX). The PAX advises and guides vaccine researchers and developers in TBVI’s R&D network while they move their candidates from concept to clinical development. The PAX supports the definition of a final target product profile (TPP) and the development of subsequent plans for product development, characterization and clinical testing. In addition, the PAX provides technical advice to relevant stakeholders.
TBVI and IAVI received grants from the Gates Foundation to provide consultative services to investigators who have novel TB vaccine concepts or candidates but little direct product development experience. This consulting service is tailored to meet individual Principal Investigator (PI) needs where these are aligned with the objectives of the Collaboration for TB Vaccine Discovery (CTVD).
