GLOBE-TB: Global Partnership for Accelerating Tuberculosis Vaccine R&D

GLOBE-TB, funded by the Dutch Ministry of Health, aims to maintain and strengthen Dutch leadership and scientific excellence in European and Global TB vaccine R&D by:

  • Expanding the current cohort of Dutch TB vaccine R&D scientists in European and Global TB vaccine R&D networks, including young scientists through scientific meetings with the aim to exchange knowledge, identifying new TB vaccine R&D project ideas, initiating new international collaborations and contributing to (re-)shaping the global TB vaccine R&D agenda;
  • Providing technical product and clinical development support and advice to TB vaccine R&D partners;
  • Initiating and managing new TB R&D vaccine projects;
  • Working with partners and stakeholders to identify and address barriers impeding TB vaccine R&D and to shape the global TB vaccine agenda that highlights the critical contributions of TB vaccines in distinct target populations to end the TB epidemic and address TB antimicrobial resistance.

Outcomes:

TBVI offers a platform for interaction between the activities and creates synergies. An example of these knowledge exchange meetings are the annual symposia and project meetings held in Les Diablerets
